5 Myths Busted about Charter Flights

April 12th, 2010 · No Comments · Cheap Travel

There’s been a lot of talk lately about charter jets and charter flights - and a lot of it has been pretty inflated, hyperbolic, or plain inaccurate. We decided to round up 5 of the most crazy things people have been saying about private charters - not individual quotations, but just “what’s in the air” right now, and explain why they aren’t true.

#5: What’s the Point?

The majority of recent chatter about charter jets posits that they don’t really need to exist - that they occupied a small corner of the market that served no practical purpose and got no business done. As anyone who has ever dealt with a company with more than 100 employees, or had to do time-sensitive, face-to-face business in an out of the way location, this statement is definitely crazy.

#4: They’re Prohibitively Expensive.

Yep, a basic ticket on a chartered plane will definitely cost you more than a commercial flight. That’s the entire point, in the end — you are paying for the priviledges — quick arrival at the airport, service when you need it, out of the way destinations, a place for secure meetings in the air — that you can’t get at an ultra-cheap price.

#3: You Can Just as Easily Fly Commercial!

The whole point about chartered flights and private flights for businesses is that they can continue _doing_ business when they’re up in the air. Not only can private planes get you to a crucial destination underserved (or not served at all) by commercial, but you just can’t hold a videoconference or a big meeting on a commercial flight. Charters, however? Sure thing.

#2: Only Rich Guys (Jerks, at that) Take Them.

Again, another media stereotype that makes it easy to write articles but difficult to do pretty much anything else. It’s not just rich people “being jerks” and flying around for no reason on private flights — but that’s the easiest way to write an inflammatory news story.

#1: Charter Jets are Over.

Just because the fat was trimmed from the industry during the global financial crisis doesn’t mean that the entire industry itself is done. It’s easy to make that connection when you’re writing an article bashing the private jets industry, but not so much when you actually take a long look at it.

For many corporate and private clients Private Charter is not a luxury, but an affordable and reliable transportation solution. With CharterJets.com Charter Flight Booking process has become quick and easy, which saves not only time, but money!
