This peaceful beach is by no means private, but it is far more quiet than the more populated areas of the island. In addition to simple walks and conversations, you and your partner can picnic on the beach. Simply pack a lunch and find a spot to sit.

If you are not into scuba diving, there are other reasons to visit the island. It is one of the most beautiful spots in all of Malaysia. It is considered a tropical beach, with warm weather and plenty of gorgeous, white sand. The water is kept clean and clear because local laws forbid fishing or littering, the two main causes of pollution. The beach also does not feature luxury hotels as American beaches might, because Malaysian law protects natural attractions.

This is because the beach is under the control of the Malaysian government; it belongs to the National Marine Park. Malaysia has strict regulations against activities that would disrupt the natural cycle of sea life or dirty the beach. Littering, fishing, and collecting coral are not allowed.

Finally, if the rest of the island is not enough for you, visit the Pasir Panjang (in English, “The Long Beach”). This beach is a popular picnicking spot; families and couples can sit out on the sand and eat.
